make of your new sitcom, Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane, to
Seinfeld?

Watch this Face Rising star Selma Blair talks about her hot new
TV show and that controversial Cruel Intentions kiss
Selma Blair: It's really flattering, but I don't think we're much
like Seinfeld. We portray teenagers, so it's [on] such a
different level. But there are similarities. I think that Zoe
has a lot of nuance the way Seinfeld did - it's a show about
nothing. And our show will take one little thing and blow it up the
way Seinfeld could.
TP: Zoe is touted as the WB's next big thing. Are you worried about
it not living up to the hype?
SB: If kids like Friends, then they'll like us. You know,
Felicity's an amazing show, but there was so much hype that if
it didn't live up to that hype, it was almost like, "Oh, no!" You
couldn't go much higher with the hype they gave [that show]. So they
kept it pretty low with us. They've done some posters to let people
know it's out there, but that's all.
TP: In your new film, Cruel Intentions, you share a French
kiss with Sarah Michelle Gellar. Did you know about that scene when
you got the part?
SB: It was always in the script. It's an integral part of [my
character] Cecile's transformation. Everyone's like, "How do you feel
about it being like a [scene from] Wild Things?" And I'm like,
"Wild Things? Cecile's in love!" It's a very innocent moment.
It wasn't like a sexy thing.
TP: How many takes to get it right?
SB: Oh, my God! - like 30! But it was nice kissing a girl: You
don't get your lipstick messed up. [When you're] kissing guysm [the]
makeup [artist] comes in, like, every five seconds. We were so careful
about each other's makeup.
