Mary Page Keller, who portrays the single working mother of Zoe, Iris Bean, was born on March 3 in Monterey Park, California, and raised around the Washington, D.C. area. Keller has a good definition of her character: "She has her head on straight. Iris has vey definite ideas about what she wants from life for herself and her daughter. They share a genuine affection and camaraderie, in spite of the usual frictions of a parent-versus-adolescent relationship."

Keller also knows how to get around in New York. She has spent several years in the Manhattan area as her acting career was just beginning. She debuted in Ryan's Hope, a daytime soap, and went on to spend two years with Another World, another soap opera, as Sally Frame. It was being cast as Laura Kelly in the 1987 comedy Duet that brought her to Los Angeles.

Keller also has an impressive number of feature film, TV movie, and other television credits. Recently, Keller appeared as Kevin Spacey's wife in The Negotiator, costarring Samuel L. Jackson. She also currently produced and starred with her husband, Thomas Ian Griffith, in Ulterior Motives, and independent film.      When she wasn't working on her budding career, Keller studied English literature and theater at the University of Maryland and later attended the Boston Conservatory of Music. Nowadays, when she's not in the spotlight, she's spending time with her family and experiments with new recipes, because she loves to cook.
